It was Friday 13th and I was down in San Francisco from Petaluma for a few days so I wandered down to the Space Cowboys Happy Hour Party on Pier 70. Which was a bunch of Burners dancing in a parking lot and having fun. This was the beginning of the San Francisco summer party scene.

After the Happy Hour at Pier 70 I made my way over to the Mighty nightclub, where some of us were planning to surprise the awesome Curtis (and his firecracker wife Vanessa) for his birthday. A former professional soccer player Curtis is now a boss carpenter and did a lot of work on the Lost Tea Party at Burning Man last year. We all hid behind a van in the carpark and jumped out to surprise him as he walked towards the club. It was great to see him and Vanessa again as they were two of my favorite people from last years Burning Man.
