Day Zero: NY, NYC. Talking American Dreams on my Last Day in Little Italy

A lot of my friends think I’m crazy. After living rent free in the heart of Manhattan for the last eight years, I reached a point of stagnation and realized that if I want to do something productive and authentic it’s time to change up my life again. So I have now voluntarily given up my free apartment in Little Italy and today is my last day in this place. As you can see from the picture, I am all packed up and ready to leave. Not.

Nonetheless, ready or not, this is the beginning of another direction. A new adventure.

I have decided to spend the next six months hitch-hiking around America and documenting my journey in search of the American Dream.

Like I said, a lot of my friends think I’m crazy.

After I’d finished packing and loading the truck, I parked it down the road and got into a conversation about the American Dream with the parking attendant who was from Haiti and filmed our encounter. He had an interesting perspective.
